Beach Babies

We enjoyed hanging out on the beach, but were not really fans of the sand or the water...luckily we had a great blanket under the umbrella.

We had some much fun hanging out with our Daddy all week.

...with all the fun toys we brought down to the beach...our favorite thing to play with was the sunscreen.

Pooltime

It was very fun to have a pool at our house, every time we came in from the beach it was a really easy way to clean off all the sand. We loved floating around in our rafts and jumping off the sides in to Mommy and Daddy's arms.

Family Vacation to Rosemary Beach

What a fun time we had on our vacation! We went out to lunch, hung out in our pool, went on a walk and spend some time on the beach...as you can see were wiped out by the end of the day!!

Hey Paris, what's so tough about this??

We have something in common with Paris - they know what it is like to be in jail! They really don't mind it too much and have continued to eat...they will be on Larry King in a few years when they finallly are released!

No More Hat Head

Today was a big day – Sadie “graduated” from the helmet. The doctor’s saw such great improvement in the 8 weeks that she has had it and said at this point we need to just focus on her neck. So we will continue with physical therapy and using her neck brace. There is still the possibility of having surgery on her neck but we are going to give the therapy a little while longer before we explore that route. Basically, how it is described to me, there are two muscles on either side of your next called the SCM that are kind of like rubber bands. On Sadie’s left side the muscle is tighter, stronger and appears shorter, causing her to tilt her head, the surgery would “release” this muscle making each side even. Sounds simple enough, though something I still want to avoid for obvious reasons.

Hollis wanted to be sure she got a picture up too...she is very excited not to get bopped in the head while wrestling with Sadie!

11 Months Old

We are 11 months old and doing great! We love spending time together, playing, wrestling and just laughing. In fact, some days, during nap time, instead of sleeping, we just talk - we think it is really funny (our mommy gets a little frustrated!).

Hollis is crawling, pulling up and talking a lot. She says "uh-oh" when she drops things and sometimes "baby" when she sees a picture of herself. She has loved being at the pool this summer. She finally has one tooth with a second one on the way!

Sadie is an explorer - she is all over the place, up the stairs and everything. She now has 5 teeth and a 6th one coming soon. She is doing really well in her helmet and the doctors think she might have it off my the end of next month. She is still tilting her head a bit, so we will continue therapy for a while.

Almost One

How old are we??? ALMOST ONE!! We are learning to point...and gearing up to tell everyone how old we will be in a month!

Sadie isn't quite pointing here, but it was such a cute shot I couldn't leave it out!

Learning to Walk

We have a walking toy that Sadie loves using...she can walk all around the great room,

she can even hold it and walk one handed!

Playgroup in the Pool

Now that it is summer, we can have playgroup in the pool! Sadie and Madeline share a very funny secret, while Evyn is concentrates and Hollis enjoys munching on her toy!

Now the girls pay attention (while Hollis continues chomping away!)

Milk Thief

Though Sadie had just finished breakfast and had a full belly, she decided that she was still thirsty and wanted Wells' milk...so she came up with a plan!

First, she looked back to make sure that the no one was looking.

Anne Lawson saw her, but kept quiet.

Then she decides Wells needs a bit of a distraction, so she tickles his toes, while looking back at the camera as to say "what, I am not doing anything".

Anne Lawson keeps a close eye on Sadie, yet is too busy drinking her milk to warn her brother.

Finally, she goes in for the kill and gets the sippy cup!! Ahh, the power of flirtation!

A Table for Five

On Saturday night, we all had a fancy dinner of cheese toast, peas, ravoli and fruit! It was very fun to eat together as a big group! Too bad Bo and Bleu couldn't make the trip also, as they would have really helped clean up!

Do you think we were noticed?

It was hard to be inconspicuous on our Saturday morning walk.

Daddy in the Play Yard

We showed Anne Lawson and Holland how fun it was when daddy got in our outdoor play yard!

Fish, Fish Everywhere!

We all went to the Georgia Aquarium on Friday afternoon, our friend Lucy joined also. Though the big kids really, really enjoyed it, we thought it was very cool!

Hollis: I thought they said there were going to be fish in here, but it looks like just a big tank of bright blue water!

Sadie: Mommy, Daddy, look, there is a fish and it is HUGE, Hollis they were right, it is coming your way!

Hollis: Wait big fish, come back and see me! Though my mommy thinks you are ugly, I think you are very funny!! I am going to get my sister to help me pound on the glass until you come back!

COME BACK BIG FISH, COME BACK!!! COME BACK BIG FISH, COME BACK!!

Cruisin' Sadie

Sadie went from pulling up to stand to cruising around the coffee table in a couple of days. Thank goodness for the helmet as she has smacked her head a couple of times and not even noticed it!
