We had a blast swimming at the pool everyday at the beach. In fact the first thing we said every morning and after our naps was "swimming pool".
The pool had these really cool steps that we could walk and play on and we loved every minute of it. We went under water, we played with Daddy (see the video below), we jumped off the sides and we "swam" with our floaties on.
